Native plant seed collection Nodding Onion

How to Collect Native Plant Seeds | Nodding Onion

Video Transcript:

Today I want to show you how simple it is to collect seeds from the Nodding Onion.

You can actually see them just sitting right here waiting to be collected.

One of the things you can do with the Nodding Onion is quite literally just take the seed heads and roll them around in your fingers.

You will get plenty of seeds that come out.

I just quite simply put them in my brown envelope, put the name and the date, and it’s as easy as that.

You can also use a bag, which you’ve seen in some of my other videos, put it over the Nodding Onion seed head, and clip it to collect the seeds that way.

So, if you’re interested in collecting Nodding Onion seeds, they’re quite visible. You know when it’s time to do it.

If you’re interested in doing it, look in the comments section. There’s information and detailed instructions on how to stratify these so you’ve got a great harvest next year.

I’m Patrick. Let’s stay native.
