Native plant seed collection Evening Primrose

How to Collect Native Plant Seeds | Evening Primrose

How to collect native plant seeds from evening primrose (video transcript):

Today I’d like to show you how easy it is to collect seeds from your Evening Primrose.

I do wanna say this is also one of the favorite plants for my goldfinches around here.

I’m going to show you how many seeds come out of one little pod. There’s plenty to go around.

I just take this, pull it off, rub the base of this seed pod, and the seeds just keep falling out.

They look like little pieces of pepper and it’s so simple then to just collect them in the brown envelopes that I’ve shown you before. I just put the name and the date on there, and now I have Evening Primrose.

Check the comments section. I’ll talk about cold stratification and how to ensure that you have a great crop next year of Evening Primrose.

I’m Patrick. Let’s stay native.
